Fake anti-Semitism: Local Labour Parties move against Wadsworth expulsion

Last Updated: June 10, 2018By

Marc Wadsworth, introducing the family of Stephen Lawrence to Nelson Mandela.

This is heartening.

Readers of This Site will be aware of the injustice done to anti-racism activist Marc Wadsworth by the Labour Party.

He was expelled for “bringing the party into disrepute” after an argument with Labour MP Ruth Smeeth over her apparent collusion with the right-wing, anti-Labour press in which she accused him of anti-Semitism, for no good reason at all.

It was a decision that flew in the face of the evidence and supported serious questions about the impartiality of Labour’s disputes process that have been raised over the past two years.

So I was glad to read the following, from Skwawkbox:

Wadsworth has been on tour around the country, speaking to supporters and raising funds for legal action.

So far, at least twenty-one CLPs (constituency Labour parties) have passed motions supporting his reinstatement, including several not considered predominantly left-wing

A large number of other CLPs are believed to have motions planned after CLPD (Campaign for Labour Democracy), which came out against Wadsworth’s expulsion, sent out emails with a model motion.

This Writer’s own case seems to have been buried by Labour – although, with the party’s new general secretary apparently keen to strip defendants facing trumped-up anti-Semitism accusations of their legal representation while the party itself lawyers-up, I’m in no hurry.

But Mr Wadsworth’s case is giving hope to all of us in a similar situation.

Proud that my Stroud CLP is one of these.
Hope this and all other cases will soon be resolved.

I met Marc at one of the events on his Justice4Marc tour in Manchester ten days ago. He’s a really top fella, and with his history of combating racism, his expulsion is one of the worst jokes in the comedy of the current real world.

There needs to be a class action against Labour for anti-Arab racism. Mark Wadsworth has nothing to do with that aspect as he didnt say anything about Jews or Israel in his contribution but still managed to get accused of anti-Semitism anyway!

But the fake ‘anti-Semitism’ defintions adopted by Labour are racist. Members of the Israeli government openly declare that all Palestinians are their enemies and that Palestinian children are ‘little snakes’ who can legitimately be killed with their mothers because they are likely to grow up and oppose Israel. That is genocide. The minister who advocated this is named Ayelet Shaked; she is Minister of Justice and many believe she may be a future Prime Minister of Israel.

Apparently it is supposedly anti-Semitic to compare this genocidal politics with Nazism. And its anti-Semitic to say that Israel is a racist endeavour, i.e. a racist state. And its anti-Semitic to hold the many Jews abroad (not all of them by any means, but a lot, certainly a clear majority) who give support to Israel, responsible for its crimes.

In fact, it is clearly racist against Arabs not to do these things. It says clearly in its logic that Jewish life is more important than Arab life. Anyone who of Arab origin who was expelled or disciplined would have a strong case to sue the Labour Party for racial discrimination. Anyone who was not Arab would also have a strong case for what is known as ‘associative discrimination’, i.e discriminating against someone because of their support for an ethnic group that is subject to racist discrimination.

The sooner a test case occurs on this basis the better, so Labour’s real racist wing – the Friends of Israel, JLM etc, can be purged. We need these racists out.

Associative discrimination… I may look into this!
