Post Office knew ‘at least’ 20 years ago that Horizon accounts could be changed remotely
We knew this already because it was a key part of Mr Bates vs the Post Office – but this is still information worth keeping handy, because it’s in a letter from Nick Read, CEO of Post Office Ltd.

The Post Office was aware ‘at least’ 20 years ago that accounts on the flawed Horizon IT system could be changed remotely without postmasters knowing, its boss has admitted.
It means senior managers knew of problems with the faulty Fujitsu program eight years earlier than previously thought.
The bombshell disclosure is buried in a letter from Post Office chief executive Nick Read to MPs investigating the scandal.
