Tory Lord visits Israel and voices unequivocal support for the genocide in Gaza

Last Updated: March 30, 2024By

A former Government minister who negotiated the disastrous Brexit deal with the European Union has now visited Israel in order to link the UK’s Tory government firmly with the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

In a post on X, he stated:

I have just returned from four days in Israel with some House of Lords colleagues.

It was a sobering and emotional trip and I will write further about why soon. But we saw an Israel still in shock, battered by the war, yet determined to finish the job and ensure the terrible killings of 7 October can never happen again.

It was particularly moving to meet some families of the 134 remaining hostages with @bringhomenow and to see Hostage Square (as it is now known) ready symbolically for the hostages’ return.

It was also in appallingly bad taste – as responses very quickly made clear:

Perhaps this was the best response:

Frost’s unqualified support for Israel’s genocide – “determined to finish the job and ensure the terrible killings of 7 October can never happen again” – marks him out as a supporter of this new holocaust. He should be dragged to the Hague along with all the other UK politicians who have made this country complicit in the worst war atrocity of the 21st century.

The thing is a member of the Lords SHOULD visit Israel, they SHOULD speak to families of hostages and those hostages who have been returned too. But unless they ALSO visit, or try, Gaza and the West Bank then they aren’t trying to gather any kind of independent information at all. No attempt being made to even LOOK LIKE they are anything but cheerleaders for an extremist government.

There are two sides in every war, the SAME two sides – the men with the guns/bombs and the innocent unarmed civilians. Guess which side always loses??

Excellent last point. Of course the Geneva Conventions were written to safeguard the innocent, unarmed civilians – but they’re no good if those with the guns and bombs don’t observe them.
