It’s the end of another month, and once again I find myself overdrawn.
The amounts are tiny in real terms. I run Vox Political on such a tight budget that they couldn’t be anything else. If you think anybody is getting rich from This Site, think again.
The simple truth is this: independent journalism like Vox Political survives only because readers like you choose to support it.
Platforms throttle reach – nine out of 10 people who read the site five years ago are actively prevented from seeing any story links on Facebook or X.

Ad revenue is unreliable because not enough people are being allowed to know there’s anything on the site worth reading.
Book sales aren’t enough – for the same reason.
The one thing that does keep this work alive is you.
This month we’ve exposed how Right-wing opportunists tried to use the killing of Charlie Kirk to stir up hate against Left-wingers who had nothing to do with it – and how that backfired against them.
We’ve chronicled the hopeful launch of Keir Starmer’s second year as prime minister, how it fell into disgrace immediately, and how – rather than tackling his problems – he tried to distract our attention away.
One story even demonstrated that Vox Political adheres to far higher journalistic standards than even the BBC (perhaps that is the reason some powerful figures would like to see me silenced).
Those facts are in only a few of the 97 stories already published this month.
That’s what your support makes possible — holding power to account when others stay silent. But I can’t do it if I can’t make a living from it!
I need to raise £250 in the next couple of days just to clear the overdraft and keep going. Based on Vox Political‘s current figures, that’s 25p per person. Nobody can say they can’t afford that!
If even a fraction of readers chipped in the price of a coffee, I’d be in the clear.
👉 Please consider making a one-off donation — or, even better, setting up a small monthly contribution so the work doesn’t hang on last-minute appeals. I hate writing this a lot more than I expect you hate reading it!
Every pound makes a difference. Without you, this platform can’t exist. With you, we can keep shining a light where others won’t.
The best way is through Ko-fi.com – you can donate through PayPal or by direct bank transfer if you prefer, and you can set up regular payments as well, so you don’t have to think about it again (but remember all payment sites take a percentage for themselves, so be sure to provide enough to ensure that I receive what you want me to.
With your help today, Vox Political will still be here tomorrow — holding power to account.
