Plans for an anti-Thatcher museum in London to showcase her “genuine terrible legacy” – Mirror Online
Does anybody know anything about crowdfunding? Perhaps something could be done to make Mr Cullen’s exhibition a permanent feature of the London scene.
Plans to open an anti-Thatcher museum in London are being hatched by artist Darren Cullen.
The 32 year old, originally from Leeds, says he is in the early stages of planning, but has already been looking into finding potential locations and raising the funds for a temporary exhibition on the Iron Lady.
In 2013, Cameron gave his backing to a £15million museum and library called The Thatcher Centre, that would celebrate her life to “ensure Thatcher’s legacy lives on”.
But Darren thinks that there should be an alternative to this: a museum which exhibits the negative side of Thatcher and the UK under her rule.
Darren says:” I wanted to start this project because I think there’s going to be a serious need to counteract the whitewashed version of Thatcher’s legacy the official museum will present.”

It’s an excellent and much needed idea, but I know nothing about crowd funding. Of course, Tosspot, our Mayor, has awarded himself power over and above local councils and now regularly overturns their objections to his corrupt Clearance and Development plans. If this exhibition looks like happening Boris “I AM the Planning Department” will most certainly refuse permission.
Yes, THAT Mr I GetTwoAndAHalf FullTimeJobSalaries.

Are you going to include John Major’s Tory government in 1978 that began the seeds of the wipe out of the state pension coming with the flat rate pension next year?

John Major’s government began in 1990, not 1978. I don’t understand what you are saying.
A worthy venture, even I would contribute to that.

This was my petition that has run for the last 3 years or so. It garnered 80,000+ signatures. It closed because the coalition government claimed “no public money would be involved” . Well caMoron claimed many things and most were lies. We shall see if the Thatcher Mausoleum is still in caMoron’s in-tray, and who will cough up the money for it….
So since ’38 degrees’ (reasonably) calling my petition to a halt, I am most glad to see Darren Cullen’s sensible alternative rise like a phoenix from thatcher’s ashes. If I can assist in any way….. as it happens, I am a semi-retired theatrical propmaker with much experience in ‘themed’ walk-through leisure centres and the like.
Good luck to Darren!
GoFundMe.com – some people have had a few hiccups with it, but it was the site used by the young lady to raise money for the disabled pensioner who was attacked and needed a new home.
I would happily donate to this. Could it be a mobile one so that non-Londoners could get a look-in?
