Junior doctors ask Cameron to step into row with ‘polarising’ Jeremy Hunt. Why?
This is doomed to failure. Cameron would only adopt Hunt’s line – if he could even be bothered to get involved. Remember, this is about junior doctors and the Public Relations Prime Minister won’t care a fig about them.
The leader of the NHS’s junior doctors has called on David Cameron to step in and help end the row over their new contracts because Jeremy Hunt is too “polarising” in his dealings to avert the threatened strike by them.
Dr Johann Malawana said Cameron’s strong support for junior doctors during their last major dispute, when he was still leader of the opposition, and his personal experience of the NHS, made him the ideal person to help end the impasse.
Malawana, chair of the British Medical Association’s junior doctors committee (JDC), called on the prime minister to get involved during an interview with the Guardian before a protest rally in central London scheduled for Saturday, which 17,000 trainee medics have already pledged to attend.
“I hope that David Cameron does intervene to try and make the situation better. I would like him to intervene to try and encourage the health secretary, Jeremy Hunt, to approach this in a more reasonable way and stop making this such a fractious, polarising, [and] negative dialogue. If the prime minister can do this, then there’s hope,” said Malawana.

If the PR-ime Minister DOES get involved, PR-epare to hear lots of fine sounding PR words and PR-omises, PR-ofessionally PR-esented by the PR-ime Minister, who will be carefully PR-epared to look smooth and sound sincere.
Don’t expect any PR-omises to be kept!
One hesitates to say it, but I’ll leave that to Martin Niemöller:-
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
The Junior Doctors must be delusional if they think that Cameron will be any help. He’s the one who appointed Hunt, knowing that he’s a madman that believes in magic rather than medical science.
Jeremy Hunt is well documented as believing that homeopathic medicine can be effective. This level of stupidity in the minister in charge of the NHS is explains much of his attitude to our Doctors and nurses whom he regards as an obstacle to his agenda of encouraging the study of Potions. He would probably be only too pleased to appoint Severus Snape to oversee the NICE if it wasn’t that JK Rowling is a Labour supporter.
Seriously, #unt’s lack of understanding of medicine as demonstrated by his pronouncements on alchemy is makes him particularly unsuitable for his job and he should never have been appointed and he can never be trusted.
It’s as if a Climate Change denier was put in charge of energy policy now that would be stupid … Oh wait …
Cameron chooses the friends & fights that he thinks will earn him brownie points with the electorate.
I do hope the Hunt or C’moron do not need urgent emergency medical care whilst the junior docs dispute is live …… and it’s on a weekend!! Shame……
Why ask Shameron to step in and help, he’s not going to, he’ll be backing CHunt all the way so why would he stop him, these junior doctors are either very naive or very stupid!
