Andrea Leadsom admits she’d reinstate fox hunting ‘In the interest of animal welfare’
For an example of the kind of “successful hunts” Ms Leadsom means, see this article.
Not so appetising now, is it?
Andrea Leadsom said she would hold a vote to repeal the fox hunting ban if she became Tory leader because the act, which prohibits the hunting of wild animals with dogs, is not “in the interest of animal welfare”.
The Tory MP is contending with Theresa May to become the next Prime Minister, with the final decision in the hands of the Conservative Party membership.
In an interview with ITV News on Thursday, Leadsom called foxes “vermin” and complimented “successful hunts” held in her constituency of South Northamptonshire.

Thatcher mark 2 god help us all.
The vermin are those who enjoy subjecting beautiful animals to a vile and dreadful death. No such ghastly person need think they are representing me or I VERY MUCH HOPE my country!
Vile specimen.
As long as she is the fox its ok with me
There is nothing essentially wrong with reinstating hunting if that is your view. It is a subject that raises passions, but there are many who believe it to be right to allow it. I don’t want Anrea Leadsom as PM, but her views on fox hunting are not part of that view. I would be quite happy if fox hunting was allowed again if parliament permitted it. The legislation was forced through last time by the misuse of the Parliament Act. Even Tony Blair later regretted the legislation to stop it.
Tories know all about how to misuse the Parliament Act. Look at all the bills they’ve pushed through with it.
i wouldn’t worry about that mike whats more important is that she was to get article 50 up and running straight away if she becomes prime minister ? and that would be quite dangerous for the city at this time
It must be very gratifying Mike, to know that you have 80% of the country on your side. Keep writing the articles and I’ll keep forwarding them on and so will those I post to.
