EU warns UK Tories: Don’t try your ‘divide and rule’ tactics with us!

Clearly the European Commission president has realised that the principle tactic of the UK’s Conservative government is manufacturing an imaginary difference between groups, fomenting disquiet and then exploiting the division.
Unlike the gullible British public, he’ll be having none of it.
What does this mean? Well, he could be saying the EU will suspend – or even cancel – Brexit talks if the UK tries to cut deals with individual member states in order to get preferential treatment.
That would be a disaster for Theresa May – although no doubt she would try to spin it so it would seem the EU had unfairly forced her out with no deal.
Either way, no deal is no deal – and the UK doesn’t want that.
But can the Tories change the habit of many lifetimes?
The UK should not try to play different EU states off against each other or pursue “special discussions” in key areas, a top EU official has warned.
European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said the UK may want to be more “obliging” to certain countries to secure future commercial advantages.
The EU is keen to maintain a united front and conduct central negotiations.

Divide and rule is all the Tories know. They ran an Empire using those tactics and now they use them at home, unfortunately very successfully. Lets hope that this time it backfires spectacularly on them.
