May’s Article 50 statement is SHREDDED by the social media
On the eve of the UK government triggering Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, notifying the European Union of this nation’s intention to leave, Theresa May released a statement via the ConservativeHome website.
This Writer thinks it would be useful for people to read the responses the article received when it was publicised on Twitter, before reading her actual words. They show the depth of public feeling against what she is doing.
So, when ConHome tweeted the main message – “Now that the decision has been made to leave the EU, it is time to come together” – these are the responses it received:
lol good luck with that

Only metaphorically? She can write it on 60 grit sandpaper, rough side up, then literally shove it.

And then sit for hours in A&E, wondering why there are no doctors to come to her bleeding aid.

You can read the thread yourself – most of the comments are in the same vein, making it clear that Brexit is catastrophic for support of the Conservative Party.
Now read on, to see what Mrs May said that has upset them all so much:
“When I sit around the negotiating table in the months ahead, I will represent every person in the whole United Kingdom – young and old, rich and poor, city, town, country and all the villages and hamlets in between.
And yes, those EU nationals who have made this country their home.
It is my fierce determination to get the right deal for every single person in this country.
For, as we face the opportunities ahead of us on this momentous journey, our shared values, interests and ambitions can – and must – bring us together.
We all want to see a Britain that is stronger than it is today. We all want a country that is fairer so that everyone has the chance to succeed.
We all want a nation that is safe and secure for our children and grandchildren. We all want to live in a truly Global Britain that gets out and builds relationships with old friends and new allies around the world.
These are the ambitions of this Government’s Plan for Britain. Ambitions that unite us, so that we are no longer defined by the vote we cast, but by our determination to make a success of the result.
We are one great union of people and nations with a proud history and a bright future.
And, now that the decision has been made to leave the EU, it is time to come together.”

Yeah a really bright future, as long as you are rich and possibly titled!!!
Or in the government!!!
the three often go together
I am 100% convinced that those words were written a professional speech writer. They bear no relation to Mrs May’s divisive personality at all and I do not believe for one minute that her dim and malevolent mind could dream up such positive words.
She doesn’t speak for me, she doesn’t speak for anyone…she hires speech writers to speak for her.
Sham. Bogus. Phoney. Insincere. Dishonest. Deceitful. Manipulative. Autocratic. Megalomaniacal.
Worst ever Prime Minister of K (Formerly known as UK).
Who wrote that speech? Was it the mayor of Trumpton? (No, nothing to do with that one)
a, what does what she wears have to do with the statement?
b, what part of the statement do these twitters reflect
c, as a remain campaigner why do people who clearly are running round in circles yelling the sky is falling think she is personally for leave
d, do they want us to get a bad deal and be punished by these people they want to be friends with, are they closet masochists?
e, it is time that those at the bottom of the fiscal pile got something instead of the rich who were the only ones who have ever benefitted form the eu membership.
Taking your last point first: What on Earth makes you think the poor will benefit from Brexit? It has always been about stopping any payments to the EU in order to give tax breaks to the obscenely rich. Did you never realise that? Understand it now, then, because you’ll have to accept it when it happens. As for the rich being the only ones benefitting from EU membership, tell that to places like West Wales, where EU funding will soon dry up, leaving the deprived people living there with no support at all. Billions of pounds of EU funding has gone into that area and it isn’t the only one.
Where is this planet she’s on? can we nuke it ;)
It’s not even hypocrisy anymore. It’s bare-faced lies.
As the Tories have been ‘in charge’ for the majority of the last 5 decades does make me wonder why they still have to ‘make’ things ‘fairer for all’ to give ‘equal opportunities’ for all!
Especially as they’ve been making things desperately hard for the unemployed, the sick and the elderly or the better words to use would be, ‘the already impoverished’; so hard in fact a good few numbers have chosen to end their lives than continue the one sided fight to be treated as ‘human’!
Wow! What planet is she on?!!! Public-speak just gets more and more impressively opposite to the actuality of any situation. Or is it deliberately designed to cause outrage? Or are they all on multiple drugs (like Hitler was) & have no grasp on reality anymore?…What is great though is that she & her mates are doing fantastic job of destroying any trust or belief the tory party, I can thank her for that!
Criticising her for her dress sense is no different to the Daily Mail’s Legsit debacle. Slam her for being a moron, for being power crazy, for not having a heart, or for everything she lacks politically, but posts like this take emphasis away from the real reason she is hated.
No, they don’t.
You have missed the point of the image, which is not only to satirise the ‘Legs-it’ nonsense but also to point out that nothing Theresa May says is worth our time either – as the article demonstrates very well (in my opinion as the author).
Really, knee-jerk reactions like this are risible. Try to think a little deeper about this things.
To the twitter posters who voted Conservative; what did you expect?
As for what she said; I have no words.
A sack of spuds is useful, it can feed people for months. Teresa May and her government on the other hand are useless and responsible for people going without basic necessities and relying on food banks. So quite the opposite of a sack of spuds.
“every person in the whole United Kingdom – young and old, rich and poor, city, town, country and all the villages and hamlets in between.” OK that’s the disabled unrepresented!
want to use just 2 words to maggie may n her lot….. first begins with F 2nd with O………. but that’s lowering myself i guess. so ill say instead, IN YOUR DREAMS MISSIS MAY.
the problem with waiting for the “leave” voters to suffer for their choice, is that we have to suffer with them!!!
lets go with this
“When I sit around the negotiating table in the months ahead, I will represent every person in the whole United Kingdom –
young and old, only if there capable of working for minimum wage for 70 hours a week,if you cannot work i have my fitness to work experts assess you and come up with a miracle cure backed up by excellent training and strong support from three companies that benefit massively by failing you.
rich and poor, that’s a good work we work the poor to pieces so that we can get rich, build more tax haven boats, tax haven islands, spend money on things we cannot use, we the rich will be great again, you the poor well you be poorer
city, town, city well if you vote conservative you might get to become a city, town if you vote conservative we may even support you as a town but vote anything else and well will support you as much as a small village, unless your rich of course, in which case a donation to the troy coffers and you can become a lord
country yes you heard right well support any country except the one that matters the most our own, we have exciting new plans, now we cannot use panama anymore we need to create more secret tax havens, suggestions anyone
and all the villages and hamlets in between, which is exactly what you remain if you don’t vote tory, infact we also take your green-belt land and build more houses
this sounds more like a good old tory policy, now we just need to rollout the useless brexit bus to market the tory vision and the great tory repeal bill, we even have the same faces . all people you could trust
Vote tory you know it makes sense. with apologies for my sense of bad humour
The interesting thing is… there probably IS a Brexit option somewhere in reality that can do what Theresa May states Brexit will do. Unfortunately, it’s never going to be even remotely achievable with a Conservative government – especially one as inept and clueless as the one we currently have. I don’t blame the leave voters – many of them had good intentions, many were simply misled and many of them voted purely on whether or not they wanted to leave without considering who would be in charge of the leaving process. Instead, I blame the conservative government for ignoring these people and only choosing to appeal to the stubborn, bigots, xenophobes and the rich.
Fact is… May’s Brexit doesn’t represent the interests of Britain. And whilst she may represent the people of Britain formally in the negotiations, she certainly doesn’t represent the public’s views. The conservative government under May has shown already with its actions that when it says it wants the right deal for everyone, it means the rich. And because of this, we will never face the opportunities that might come from leaving the EU – because all the things the general public can gain from leaving the EU are the opposite of what the conservatives stand for, thus not only will we fail to achieve them, but we will be dragged in the complete opposite direction.
May’s lies are so transparent, it is indeed almost laughable if it wasn’t so tragic. And if you want proof that May’s Brexit will be bad for the UK, look at Scotland. As a mongrel of British and Irish nationalities (albeit primarily English and Welsh), I have a strong wish for the UK to stay together… but if someone decided to pull Scotland’s border down south of where I live, I’d probably vote for independence to be away from a government that in no way represents my interests of beliefs. Scotland gunning for a second referendum is proof that May’s Brexit is already weakening the nation.
