Watch Tory Dominic Raab LIE about the reasons for food bank use

Last Updated: May 29, 2017By

Take a look at the image above. It’s the Trussell Trust’s data on the reasons people attend food banks.

Now watch Conservative liar Dominic Raab talking about it on the Victoria Derbyshire show:

What a filthy liar.

The Trussell Trust’s official figures show that benefit delays and changes are the biggest causes of referral to a food bank. That’s not a “cash-flow problem” – that’s real poverty, deliberately inflicted on people who deserve better, by Mr Raab’s Conservative colleagues, who couldn’t care less.

Low income is the second-biggest cause. Another word for low income is, of course, poverty.

Those are the reasons more than 1,182,000 three day emergency food supplies were given to people in crisis in past year – 436,000 to children.

It may interest you to know that the Trussell Trust has compiled a report about the effect of Universal Credit rollout on food bank use.

It says foodbanks in areas of full Universal Credit rollout to single people, couples and families, have seen a 16.85% average increase in referrals for emergency food, more than double the national average of 6.64%.

The effect of the 6+ week waiting period for a first Universal Credit payment can be serious, leading to foodbank referrals, debt, mental health issues, rent arrears and eviction.

Universal Credit is, of course, a flagship Tory scheme.

And Dominic Raab has the cheek to lie to us about his party’s contribution to the huge increase in food bank use.

Surely, only the small hard core of the nasty Tory faithful will believe such arrant nonsense from these corrupt liars.

Very good. Why haven’t you bothered to tell everybody what it is? People should never just click on links they’re sent, you know.
(It’s a satirical YouTube clip, so everybody’s computers are safe, but that’s not the point. It is important that you clearly state what your link is.)
