Lib Dem says: “Never trust the public. They’re deeply unreliable” – Pride’s Purge

Lest we forget: Tom Pride reminds us why the Liberal Democrats are so unpopular at the polls.

Lest we forget: Tom Pride reminds us why the Liberal Democrats are so unpopular at the polls.

In a remarkable article on the Conservative Home website, leading Lib Dem Stephen Tall writes that the Lib Dems have learned what he called a “harsh lesson”, writes Tom Pride, namely:

“Never trust the public. They’re deeply unreliable.”

Well, Stephen, after reading your article, I suggest you’ve missed the real ‘harsh lesson’ that you and your party colleagues should have learnt.

Namely that lying, spineless, two-faced, double-dealing, hypocritical, duplicitous, patronising, so-called liberal politicians – who break all their promises to their own voters to enable the most right-wing Tory government in living memory while at the same time pretending they have nothing to do with it – tend to get punished at the polls.

oh . i need 10 minutes to tell them why… followed by a neat left hook..for letting everyone down.but then i am probably just joining the end of a very long queue to do similar. far as i am concerned lib dem and its connotations is a dirty word (or 2) and no longer exists in my vocabulary.

It’s the Lib Dem’s own fault that they are now on the edge of an electoral black hole, they piloted themselves there. I have no sympathy for them at all. Perhaps losing half or more of their MPs will teach them a much needed lesson,

…Namely that lying, spineless, two-faced, double-dealing, hypocritical, duplicitous, patronising, so-called liberal politicians – who break all their promises to their own voters to enable the most right-wing Tory government in living memory while at the same time pretending they have nothing to do with it – tend to get punished at the polls. …

The Pensions Minister is Lib Dem Mr Steve Webb.

He has been economical with the truth to new pensioners retiring from next year, who will see NIL STATE PENSION FOR LIFE and not even half of those that do get a state pension will get anything like £155 per week.

In fact current pensioners with state pension and pension credit get much more than that, so it is not MORE BUT LESS STATE PENSION.

See why, under my petition, in my WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT section, at:
    https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/state-pension-at-60-now

The Lib Dems have not only betrayed the young but all ages.

But there are millions with no other pension provision in life, because they never could afford it.

And as for the mis-selling of opting out SERPs / State Second Pension since 6 April 1978. That is going to be far bigger scandal than the married women’s stamp that gives a worthless state pension, after years of contribution.

People retiring next year have already had formal flat rate state pension forecasts as low as £55 even with 35 years NI record needed from 6 April 2016 (today only need 1 year at least NI record).

The amount of women who accepted early retirement under the massive austerity job cuts during the Coalition’s rule, when 30 years NI record and pension payout at 60, only now to face a penniless starving old age.

And these women have an average works pension of not even £60 per week.
Many women only got £30 per week state pension.
New claimants from next year will get absolutely nothing.

This is pretty much almost exactly what Bertolt Brecht said about the East German Communist party when they sent the tanks in to quell a pro-democracy uprising. ‘The Politburo have decided to dissolve the people and elect another one.’ Thus the great satirist of the Weimar Republic lampooned the new dictatorship of Hoenegger, et al. It seems the Lib Dems have taken Brecht’s comments about the public’s lack of loyalty to ‘benevolent’ dictatorships to heart, and not realised they were satire.

In 2002, a secret Liberal Democrat document came to light – produced by the Association of Liberal Democrat Councillors – in which local activists were urged to “be wicked, act shamelessly, stir endlessly” in order to win elections.

In fact, ask anyone who’s been involved in local politics and they’ll tell you Liberal Democrat activists are the most infamous for playing dirty, using underhand methods and being utterly ruthless.
Exactly as they’ve turned out to be nationally in their coalition with the Tories.

Everybody go and read this now!
I particularly like the way the exclamation marks run off the ‘page’ and into the other parts of the site.
