Sir Malcolm Rifkind: This writer interviewed him once. Once was enough.

Rifkind has resigned as Chair of the Intelligence and Security Committee, writes Tom Pride.

In his resignation statement, Rifkind reckons that the fact he was prepared to be in the pay of the Chinese is not “relevant to my work as chairman of the intelligence and security committee”.

Really?

This man should be investigated and prosecuted for misconduct in a public office, or public sector corruption. Its as simple as that. Like many others of his ilk he appears to have an inflated sense of his own importance.

I had to read this twice, is this man for real does he truly believe his resignation will suffice and just walk away.

This unscrupulous individual must have the full force of the law brought against him for his actions whilst in public office.

What a shame he has been found out and he is just one them, the rest must be shaking in their boots, has this opened a tin of worms?

Sanctioned for being 5 minutes late at a job centre, banged up for taking food out of a skip having lost benefits.

When are the citizens of the UK going to demand action in matters such as this, we pay their salaries and they are there to represent the nation, not their bank accounts.

One wonder is he another banking with HSBC in Switzerland will the truth ever come out?

This waster should never had been allowed to hold a position in public life. Good riddance to a thoroughly rotten individual.
