Why I strongly support trade unionism – Politics and Insights

Trade Unions are fundamental to a functional democracy. Research shows that Trade Unionism is linked with higher levels of social equality and better public services, as well as better working conditions and rates of pay that ensure people have a decent standard of living.

The Conservatives have always hated Trade Unions because they [Conservatives] tend to perpetuate and endorse inequality and poor pay. We currently have the highest levels of social inequality in the EU, and it’s even greater than in the USA. We also have [had] the biggest wage drop; pay hasn’t fallen this much since the 1800s. Tories like cheap labour, and profit for big business

That isn’t in ordinary people’s best interests. The largest study of UK deprivation shows that full-time work is no longer a safeguard against poverty. Yet Conservatives claim to be the party for “hard-working people.”

Posting this blog in groups earned me my 3rd Facebook ban of the year. No reason was provided for the restriction on my account yet again. I always appeal and send “feedback” and respond to the “if you think you are seeing this by mistake” notice, but never get a response from FB. I share my blogs in small chunks, with most posts in groups this morning. That’s because I am mindful of the FB spam algorithm. I tried posting in just 3 Labour groups just now and got a ban notification. The post had been removed in one group, which gives me a clue as to who is reporting my blog regularly as having “abusive and offensive” content. Thanks for sharing it here Mike .

There’s nothing abusive or offensive in it!
That’s the trouble with policing-by-algorithm, and it has caught me in the past.

I don’t think FB are censoring me, but I do think some people in groups are not what they say they are, and are effectively censoring individuals by triggering the algorithm. Sneaky cowards who can’t debate using reasoned comments and rational discussion.

The Tories only wish to make the rich richer and anyone that does not fit the bill is deemed to be expendable whether they are working or not. Hopefully the rest of us will eventually see this and through their lies to fight against them at every chance, and to not vote them into Government ever again.
Keep up the good work Mike and thank you for your continued work.
