Nicky Morgan to force through her choice of new Ofsted chief against advice of MPs

So much for democracy!

Education Secretary Nicky Morgan is to force through the appointment of her nomination for the next head of Ofsted, despite a cross-party committee of MPs saying they had “significant concerns”.

The Education Select Committee, scrutinising the appointment, rejected the choice of Amanda Spielman.

But Mrs Morgan is to override their finding and press ahead with her selection for the independent watchdog.

Mrs Morgan said Ms Spielman “will not shy away from challenging government”.

The education secretary said she was “disappointed that the committee underestimated Amanda’s vision, focus and leadership style. Her objectivity and openness are important strengths”.

Mrs Morgan said she was “100% confident” in her decision – and that “I am not seeking what one committee member described as a ‘crusader’.”

Nicky Morgan has finally lost it. As founder of the Ark chain of academy schools, Ms Spielman will be a willing ally for Nicky Morgan who recently failed in her bid to make all Primary schools academies. She has nothing on her record to suggest that she has any first hand knowledge, qualification or direct experience to be able to manage OFSTEd. The members of the Education Parliamentary Select Committee were spectacularly unimpressed with her, and rightly so. This is a shoe-in for Nicky Morgan’s “friend.”
I’m not sure how much more damage this government can do to our education system without throwing it into total chaos and losing even more good teachers.

Showing the cabinet’s complete contempt of parliament in action.
Maybe they could press charges, as I understood contempt of parliament to be quite a serious criminal offence (and a great way to pick off the megalomaniacs in government, one by one).

Going forward Ofsted will no longer be independent if headed up by this witchslayer with a vested interested and an obvious agenda from her paymaster……regret thicky Nicky is yet another dozy, greedy, thicko Con with a one track agenda ….how many more Hunts can the Cons create in their desire to privatise and profitise everything public. Roll on the much needed election based on proportional representation this time…..before they privatise the whole shooting match.
