Planned ‘no confidence’ vote in Commons Speaker John Bercow shows how out-of-touch Tories are

Last Updated: February 9, 2017By

Tory MPs are plotting a vote of no confidence in John Bercow.

Tory MP James Duddridge needs to get out and check with a few real people before making rash demands in the House of Commons.

Millions of Britons were infuriated by Theresa May’s hasty and foolish invitation to new US President Donald Trump, that he should make a state visit to the UK.

Mr Bercow’s assertion that Herr Drumpf had not earned the right to speak to MPs, and that the president’s apparent racism and sexism should bar him from doing so, was hugely popular with the people of the country at large.

But Mr Duddridge seems to have missed that.

No wonder the Tories have been such a disaster for the UK. They don’t understand how people feel about current events and – worse – don’t care.

Tory MPs are plotting a vote of no confidence in Speaker John Bercow after his attack on Donald Trump.

MP James Duddridge has written to Theresa May demanding a free vote. He tried to raise the subject in the Commons, but was not called.

He planned to say: “There is a good tradition of the government not interfering in House matters. Will (the PM) therefore give me the assurance that the government will not interfere and will give minsters a free vote in any vote of no confidence in the Speaker?”

Mr Bercow angered Tories by suggesting that the President is racist and sexist.

Millions of people were infuriated with may invitation? Yeah well millions were also not infuriated!! Millions did not think it foolish either, this is a non story. i do enjoy watching Bercow either in touch or out of touch. Is any one in the Commons or House of Lords actually in touch with anything approaching reality? NO NO NO!

How many people demonstrated against Trump out of a population of some 65.000.000? I think you’ll find the majority are in favour of any politician who actually does what he’s promised to do while canvassing.

I’m not sure what point you’re making. Just because a lot of people stayed at home, that doesn’t mean they like or support Donald Trump. Let’s be sensible, please.
