Heads increase pressure over school funding as consultation site crashes

Last Updated: March 22, 2017By

“Ugh! Poor-person spawn! Get it away from me!” Theresa May’s reaction to ordinary school pupils is telling [Image: Getty].

Of course the new funding formula is a cheat, and takes away more than it provides; Tories don’t want your children to be educated, no matter how intelligent they are or how good for the country they may be.

Intelligent, educated working people are a threat to Tories.

Oh, and it seems the Tory government’s funding formula consultation website is crashing with suspicious regularity at the time of writing:

Perhaps, for the Tories, ignorance is bliss?

Head teachers representing some 3,000 schools in England have written to their local MPs and ministers calling for a rethink on school finance plans.

They say a new national funding formula, which should give underfunded schools more cash, ignores inflationary cost pressures faced by all schools.

The heads come from 14 local council areas and represent 1.5 million pupils.

The letter comes as the government’s consultation period for the new school funding formula closes on Wednesday.

Cheating appears to be the only policy which the Tories know anything about.

The primary school I’m a governor at is very poorly funded in real terms due to its situation. It’s lucky enough to be comfortably situated in an area with very few free school meal pupils so there is almost no pupil premium add ons. The budget pressures this year means that to set a budget we will have to lose about 60 hours of LSA time. We have already reduced our LSAs over the last few years and both the head and deputy have to be timetabled to teach every week.

There is a major problem that the basic level of funding is too low. It makes perfect sense that schools with extra social pressures have enhanced pupil funding but it is absurd that the basic level is too low to actually maintain a school and they are being forced to make cuts where some cash rich schools are able to fund iPads for all their pupils.

I suppose when you put brainless idiots in charge of Public Services you will always get these situations. Most have no idea of what is going on in the real or in their cases imaginary worlds. Thank god they are not in charge of something really important …. like Brexit. Hopefully common sense brain implants will be available very soon for these blinkered Tories. (Great pic of Muvver T looking down her nose
with disgust. I’m sure, despite her mealy mouthed words, that is exactly what she and her toff mates think about the great unwashed)
