What IS this ‘important intervention’ coming from Theresa May on September 21?

According to The Guardian:
The European parliament’s Brexit coordinator has predicted that Theresa May will make an “important intervention” later this month and that the next round of divorce negotiations could be delayed as a result.
Guy Verhofstadt’s comments come as expectation grows that the prime minister will make a speech on Brexit before the Tory party conference in October, which is expected to build on the position papers published over the summer.
The Belgian MEP said: “Apparently there will be an important intervention by the British prime minister in the coming days, it is foreseen on the 21 September,” and said that the fourth instalment of Brexit talks could be pushed back a week.

That would be welcome, wouldn’t it? Especially so if bankers Morgan Stanley are right and the Conservative minority government is set to collapse in 2018 – due to in-fighting over Brexit.
Perhaps she’ll act to prevent such a collapse taking place and call a new general election?
Ha ha! Oh dear, what am I suggesting.
Of course she wouldn’t do that!

Whatever it is it will only be about the Tory Party – that’s all the whole stupid business of Brexit has ever been about.
Since she’s sure she’ll be leading the ‘Government’ at least until the 2022 election, her ‘intervention’ must be intended to take over the (entire) parliamentary Labour party.
OMG and i was happily sat here thinking it was at least 2020 when she will have to call an election. thinking when Cameron resigned she was only stepping into his shoes till 2020 like Brown did with Blair. i forgot about the farcical election where she only just won but with no proper lead and called on the irish lot to shore em up. was this why cameron resigned? he knew they would win by skin of their teeth…somehow.. hmmm pause for more thought.. i think we were had. this was on the cards all along.
If an election were announced on 21st September, would the Labour party conference go ahead? Not that I think it likely, but Corbyn & Labour will certainly benefit from the increased press during conference. Perhaps May is going to suspend Parliament and fulfil her desire to be an authoritarian despot? I think we should be told.
I could well be off the mark here but I think that she wants a cross-party group to take Brexit forward as DD is obviously a dud. She could spice up the arrangements by agreeing to pay the” Divorce Settlement” thereby giving Garnier a reason to progress the process with hopefully someone like Kier Starmer leading the discussions.
Blue Sky stuff but it is the only way I can see of ever getting wheels on Brexit.

What is this divorce nonsense? I know the eu is behaving like a umped wife, but we are not married to it and we are not going to pay maintenance. So why does anyone bother what Verhofstadt says he is only a member of the “advisory” parliament and as such has no power anyway.
i sincerely hope not…… there are enough countries with dictators as it is, where women n kids are being beheaded and burnt alive in one place in Burma i just read as well as killings by various other means in syria and other places.
