Tory mailing list cock-up is hilarious – but also shows they must not be allowed back into our town halls
This has to be the biggest belly laugh of the week.
I’ll let the Indy100 explain: “The Conservative Party has been forced to apologise after an elderly man was “shocked” to receive a campaign letter addressing him as ‘Mr F***ingjoking’.
“The letter, which appears to be signed by Theresa May, thanked ‘Mr Youmustbe F***ingjoking’ for his support and asked for cash donations to the Tory campaign.
“It was shared on Twitter by Laura who lives next door to the man and his wife in Streatham, South London.”
Here’s Laura’s tweet:
Trying to argue they can run the country when they can’t even work mailmerge. My elderly neighbours were more than a little upset to be addressed in this manner by the PM #youmustbefuckingjoking pic.twitter.com/dCHjRZFcMq

A spokesperson for the Conservative Party has apologised, saying: “It is unacceptable that this letter was sent out and we apologise for any offence caused. We are currently investigating this matter to ensure it does not happen again.”
Too late, though – it has happened. And it demonstrates the incompetence of the Conservatives far better than any campaigning by another party.
There are several possible explanations for it. My personal favourite is from Lizzie Fletcher – but I have to paraphrase it for the sake of propriety.
Basically, she said this is what happens when Tories tell their hired underlings to send out requests for residents’ details. When someone sent back a reply saying, “U R F***ingjoking”, they gleefully added it to the mailing list because they hate the Tories too.
Obviously it is to be hoped that Londoners everywhere will take note of this failure and vote for someone other than the Conservatives on May 3 – along with, no doubt, the recipients of the offensive letter.

Hilarious. But seriously it is an indication of what these people really think of us, the general public.
I should think it’ll get a mention on Have I Got News For You !
You wouldn’t want these individuals anywhere near ‘the’ Button! Really!
