Pendle councillor posted racism when she meant to delete it? Don’t dis-‘respect’ our intelligence, Brandon Lewis!
If there’s one thing Conservatives do well, it’s standing their ground – especially in the face of undeniable evidence.
Consider Brandon Lewis, the Tory chairman who tore up his own ‘respect’ pledge –
– by supporting Rosemary Carroll, newly re-elected councillor for Pendle, who compared people of Asian origin with dogs.
Mr Lewis told Sky‘s Sophy Ridge: “This was a situation that occurred last year, actually, in June last year. Her position has been from the very beginning that she accidentally posted something she wanted to delete. She was suspended by the party at that point – for three months.”
So she has been a Conservative councillor again for eight months? That is not what we have heard! And the claim about the post itself is handled very well by David Lammy:
Also, Brandon as Tory chair has been tasked with improving Tory social media strategy and has given interviews promising just that. Are you really gonna try and tell us a councillor meant to delete a racist post but shared it by accident? Don’t take us for fools it is insulting.

One thing the fraudster, the bigoted and the nasty Tories have in common is when they are caught out they revert to childlike and stupid excuses which would embarrass five-year-olds.
Yeh it’s always a genuine mistake or an accident Jeesh
I suppose the same applies to claiming one’s electricity bill or overspending in the 2017 GE… etc etc
I suppose Windrush was an accident too?
