Single mother was made homeless because the Tories don’t pay enough housing benefit

Last Updated: June 13, 2019By

Here’s a reminder that, while the candidates in the Conservative leadership contest are trying to make themselves attractive to their colleagues in Parliament, their policies are still hammering the people of the UK.

The Independent is reporting that a woman was made homeless because Tory cuts in housing benefit meant she was having to use money intended to cover costs like food and clothing to bridge the £35-a-week gap between her housing benefit and her rent.

When the money failed to stretch and she lost her home, Birmingham City Council refused to help on the basis that she had become intentionally homeless, but the Supreme Court has ruled that its approach was unlawful.

They are only ever interested in themselves and the rotten corrupt Tory Party.

Poor people don’t vote Tory, never have, never will. This is just one reason why.

And because they don’t vote Tory, they aren’t afraid of losing votes over this. In fact they will gain votes from the ‘I’m alright Jack’ Brigade. The type who enjoy hammering the poor, the disabled and otherwise vulnerable to attack. It’s like one of those Channel 5 programmes that tries to make us hate people on benefits and make us think of them as ‘scroungers’

This is probably the worst Tory government since Thatcher’s day. It is actively vindictive…

Poor people do vote Tory. That’s what the “Working-Class Tory” is.
