Boris Johnson caught out over London Pride – if he becomes PM this could happen daily

Boris Johnson: Last time, he was berated for calling the French “turds”. Now his comments on London Pride have been undermined because he called gay men “tank-top wearing bum boys”.

The Indy100 crew probably thought this an amusing bit of fun but there’s a worrying undertone to it.

Boris Johnson, front-runner to be the next Conservative leader – and our next prime minister, tweeted his support for LGBT+ rights during London Pride weekend…

… to a hugely negative response:

The problem is that this is not an isolated incident.

Mr Johnson has made his views known on many matters – and they were mostly views that could cause him serious embarrassment, were they to be brought back to light while he was serving a term as prime minister.

And you can bet that, if he becomes PM after July 23, that is exactly what will happen. And with a clown as prime minister, you can be sure the whole world will be laughing at us…

… Even people who are usually afraid of clowns.

He’s not a clown. Other countries elect clowns. The UK and US elect jokes.

People should realise that Johnson is a thoroughly nasty piece of work. Simple as that.

In many ways he’s like a British version of Donald Trump. Totally unfit for Office.

Whatever is said, whatever is shown, with all the evidence to prove that he is incapable of being PM will be ignored because many, many people will make huge amounts of money out of his short premiership, him included.

They are tories, voting for self enrichment, what else is there?

I ask but this: are people not entitled to change their minds? It seems to me, in this [anti]social media age, that whatever somebody did in their past, remains with them forever. This is not how our justice system is supposed to work, it is not how we, as Christians, are supposed to operate and it does nothing for social cohesion; it merely promotes the us and them attitudes which are so prevalent, today.
I’m not excusing Mr. Johnson but methinks that what is required is a closer examination of ourselves. We are all to quick to point out fault in others but are we, ourselves, as squeaky clean?

Sure, people can change their minds. But those like Mr Johnson should at the very least say this is what they have done.

What has brought the country to this state of affairs, where an oaf like that is anywhere near power much less in line to get the top job.
