Brexiteer Kate Hoey BUSTED for sharing fake quote about the EU
This is very poor form from Labour Brexiteer Kate Hoey.
It seems she has shared a quote purportedly by Jean Monnet, one of the founding fathers of the European Union:

But in fact it was by lecturer and author Adrian Hilton, who even got in touch with Ms Hoey to tell her:

The fact that Ms Hoey published a lie to her followers has disappointed many social media users, including Dave Gorman, who presented Modern Life is Goodish on the TV channel Dave:
Whatever side of the debate someone is on, it is incredibly dispiriting to see an MP tweet something as a fact, have it clearly demonstrated as not true and to then see no retraction or apology. Embarrassing.

It’s a shame that show was cancelled in 2017.
We could all have had a lot of fun with a “found poem” based on responses to Ms Hoey.

Well, it’s wrong, no matter who says otherwise. You have it from the author himself.
