US kills top Iranian general without telling Boris Johnson. Now, why would they do that?
I think we have to accept that Donald Trump didn’t tell Boris Johnson he was having Qasem Soleimani assassinated in case BoJob blabbed to the wrong people.
This Writer is told the killing will result in a fuel price rise – a nice little earner for those of us who run fossil fuel industries, one supposes.
The good news is that most UK politicians seem to be singing from the same sheet in response – saying that nobody wants an escalation.
We’ll see what happens if Trump insists on armed conflict.

A nasty, Right-Wing authoritarian President organises the murder of a nasty, Right-Wing authoritarian General. Why should we get involved?
This was just a gangland killing, over oil, money and territory.
Neither side has anything to offer us.
Obviously Trump has little to no concern for the welfare and safety of the British troops and the other British personnel that are still serving in Iraq.
My best guess is that it takes the focus away from Syria where the US have recently “acquired” oil fields and want a good price for the contents,
It also keeps the US Republican oil barons like the Bush family happy with the extra profit.
What of Brexit now. If this all blows up, does Boris have an excuse not to proceed with his pet project? Suddenly, Brexit looks like a side-issue.
@thekeystonegirlblogs
If this blows up then Airstrip One will be just a pile of smoking slag. There’ll be no UK to worry about Brexit (nor anything else).
