Home Office probe into refugee death is welcome – unless the Home SECRETARY is involved
Mercy Baguma: her body was discovered next to her malnourished son after the Home Office rescinded her leave to remain in the UK, meaning she could not earn a living here.
This Writer welcomes the Home Office announcement that it is to investigate the death of Mercy Baguma.
I wrote yesterday that there were unanswered questions and it is to be hoped that this inquiry will provide those answers.
But I hope the Home Secretary can be kept away from it.
Priti Patel, by her actions, has shown herself up, time and time again, to be a racist.
I would not expect any justice for a refugee from Uganda if she involves herself.
And when the Home Office makes its report on this tragedy, I want that report to publish all the evidence it receives – in full – so that we, the public, can form our own conclusions on what happened and whether blame should be applied. Somebody is responsible for this death, and they should face justice.
I don’t want the death of this black woman to be whitewashed.

These kinds of “investigations” should be done by an outside body, reporting on themselves will only cover up the truth.
The Home Office which is administered by the fascist tories in power, claim they will be investigating the reasons why Mercy Baguma died but do not expect them to enact a full and impartial investigation!
This is distraction tactics by the fascist tories who are experts at denying their collective state instigated mass murder of thousands and thousands of women and men! As evidenced by the numbers of women and men forcibly removed from hospital and whilst suffering from the Coronavirus, incarcerated in Care Homes and then left to die because why should the NHS provide medical care for these ‘worthless women and men!’
I predict Mercy Baguma will be blamed for causing her own death because she didn’t seek help from certain ‘state institutions;’ she chose to come to the UK knowing her situation was precarious; she was a disruptive and unruly asylum seeker; she falsely claimed to be a refugee. The lies are limitless fascist tories will utter via their rent a spokesperson!
‘Not our problem guv’ say the fascist tories – ‘we are in political power in order to keep you peasants impoverished and to steal your public money so that our wealthy corporate companies can increase their wealth. This is what we mean by democracy – we create a dictatorship and you stupid morons can do nothing to prevent it happening because it has already occurred!’
Strange how these deaths, similar to the UK benefits death, never seem to attract main stream media interests. It is if the Globalist owned media was on the side of this failed Con government and did not want to embarrass them with negative news…….
