Brazil variant search shows the Tory government is STILL bungling the pandemic

Have you noticed how this story has gone quiet?

The last we heard was that the search for the Brazil variant ‘patient zero’ who has been wandering around infecting people with a particularly nasty version of Covid-19 first discovered in Manaus, Brazil, had been narrowed down to 379 households.

Then, not a word since March 2.

Do you think they’ve checked all those households and realised that whoever the super-spreader is, they aren’t there?

That would be a public relations disaster for Boris Johnson and his Tories, so of course they would want their client media – the TV and radio channels and the mainstream newspapers – to keep quiet about it.

But what’s happening about this new virus variant in the meantime?

Information from Manaus suggests it is more contagious and evades any immunity provided by previous Covid infection, meaning the vaccines we have may not work on it. Funny how we’ve got no test results on that yet…

It makes a mockery of all the PR work the Johnson government has been doing. After all the flak they took and the £22 billion they wasted giving ‘test and trace’ to their chum Dido Harding (who knew nothing about it either then or now), they still can’t track down people who have been found to have the virus after testing for it.
