Support for the right to protest spans every sector of society. Unite and fight the #PoliceBill
Everybody, whether comedian or economist, is standing up in support of UK citizens’ right to protest, after the Tory government voted to effectively ban it.
The arguments are clear, whether they come from economist Richard Murphy…
… or from satirical reporter Jonathan Pie:
The Jonathan Pie video has it right: If you can’t be heard, you can’t change things; if you can’t disrupt things, they stay the same.
Or worse – as the Tories intend – they change in ways that harm you and help them.
Well, if the new law means I can be arrested for offending someone, then I’m likely to be arrested.
So are you because believe me, somebody, somewhere, finds you offensive.
The only people who will be immune will be members of the right-wing press, authority figures like Cressida Dick, and of course members of the Tory government and their supporters like Keir Starmer.
See what I did there? Now somebody will be offended that I said Starmer supports Johnson’s government. I can’t help myself. But I’m not trying to offend; I’m only telling my truth.
Just because it differs from someone else’s, that’s no reason to have me arrested.
Not in a civilised society, anyway.
But if you’re in the United Kingdom, you don’t live in a civilised society. You live in a police state.
And you will feel the sharp edge of it if you don’t stand up to stop it now.
So get organised. Get together with other people in your local communities and stand up for your right to stand up for your rights.
Or would you rather just sit at home and wait for the rozzers to come knocking on your door?
Have YOU donated to my crowdfunding appeal, raising funds to fight false libel claims by TV celebrities who should know better? These court cases cost a lot of money so every penny will help ensure that wealth doesn’t beat justice.

Complacency is the fascist’s ally.
This government wants to restrict all decency and is behaving like a dictatorship
To hell with the torys
people have rights
And our biggest one is to f**k the torys .
No, thank you. They’re not attractive. If another person is rich, that’s not a turn-on for me.
We have satisfied the majority of the criteria for a Fascist State now as per the list in the US Holocaust Museum. Whilst we don’t have widespread use of prisoner camps this WILL happen as the government talk of outsourcing asylum ‘camps’ to where they can’t be seen by the British public. No matter your political persuasion this will be used against YOU when you want to protest. Even being ‘too noisy’ is a reason to disallow protests. This leaves the decision to being a whim.
This SHOULD be a basic right, sadly we don’t have a bill of rights in this country.
I disagree, this IS racist. It was when Hitler did it too.
Like many local authorities mine actually DID have two traveller’s sites but then removed them leaving nowhere for them to go. I’m not a traveller but was a recreational user of caravans and campers for some years. I know from bitter personal experience that a lot of the problems cause (human waste, rubbish etc) are from recreational users not Travellers.
So according to the Tory scum we have no right to offend anyone! Well YOU offend me the right-wing scum taken over Labour and turned it into a right-wing cult offend me.. Above all this crummy bill designed to take away our rights YET AGAIN! Offends me greatly!!! So if we’re not allowed to offend then shove this police state bill where it deserves into the crapper.
But you won’t and the sheep will do nothing until something they care about is taken away then they will try and make noise and get arrested. All while going but I didn’t know I can’t do this anymore because I only watch right wing Tory controlled media and they have hidden all our scumbaggery.
Well thought because you didn’t care!
