Brexit is pushing your energy bill up. Here’s how it works [VIDEO]
Here’s another hidden cost of Brexit – kudos to Maximilien Robespierre for dragging this into the light.
The UK is an island so it must rely on interconnectors to import and export energy. When it was part of the EU, it was able to take advantage of the systems that operate these underwater cables – but must now rely on energy traders, adding complexity and therefore cost.

Purely through necessity, I take many prescribed drugs to “stay vertical” and my Pharmacy now keeps telling me that they can’t get – whatever.
I looked into it and it had Brexit’s grubby fingerprints all over it.
1. Parallel Exports – This is where the NHS has negotiated a price with European/USA companies and as the Pound drops in value, so does the interest to supply the UK, so they prioritise their own markets instead.
2. Shortage Reporting – the NHS claims to have a system in place but it breaks down when Manufacturers and Wholesalers refuse to say that they are short of stock for fear that their competition will benefit.
There are many other aspects involved like the extra “red tape” but as 80% of Drugs come from Europe, it doesn’t take a genuis to figure out what or who is to blame.
