Martin Lewis on what the energy price guarantee u-turn will mean for you
The energy price guarantee that limits the cost per unit of your gas and electricity will no longer last for two years. It will end in April 2023.
As matters stand currently, prices may rise by 73 per cent to around £5,000 per year.
That depends on whether the companies refuse to pass on the fall in wholesale costs that has been happening for many months now.
