Keir Starmer shows us all his Conservative credentials on crime
Keir Starmer turns out to be a fan of Margaret Thatcher – at least where crime is concerned.
But she was the prime minister who set the police on miners, criminalised poll tax protesters and authorised rubber bullets and shoot to kill policies. Is this the kind of law enforcement Starmer is advocating?
Don’t take my word for it, by the way. Here’s Howard Beckett:
Starmer praising Margaret Thatcher’s policing is an insult to families in mining communities, and insult to victims of rubber bullets & shoot to kill, an insult to those criminalised during the poll tax debacle and Brixton, 1984.
Starmer is choosing the side of the oppressor.

Here’s part of his speech:
If it behaves like a Tory, lies like a Tory and praises Margaret Thatcher like a Tory, it's a f*cking Tory. https://t.co/ekSEB585Bs

And here’s a critique showing what’s wrong with it:
If you talk about stopping crime, ‘cleaning up’ the streets, dealing with homelessness or anti-social behaviour, without mentioning the decimation of services (health, drug rehabilitation, refuges, youth, mental health) then you’re not progressive, whatever badge you wear. 1/3
— Ben Sellers (@MrBenSellers) March 23, 2023
It’s simplistic & small-minded to think like that, and more akin to conservative ideology than socialism – because fundamentally it sees punishments, threats & rules as the way people learn to submit, rather than education, resourced communities & opening doors to everyone. 3/3

There’s nothing behind the big words either:
A Labour spokeswoman on @BBCNewsnight was asked just now how the Party would cut rapes against women and girls by 5O%.
She used the word ‘ambition’ 7 times and ‘mission’ 4 times.
She had no idea what extra resources would be needed or how they’d be funded.#AmbitiousMissions— John Edwards (@JohnEdwards33) March 23, 2023
In making a stand on crime, Starmer presented his enemies with a chance to examine his own record as Director of Public Prosecutions – on which he comes out wanting:
Not prosecuting the killer of Ian Tomlinson & reaffirming the decision not to prosecute the killers of Jean Charles de Menezes, but a man getting 16months in prison & then being deported for stealing 2 scoops of ice cream?
Tough like that? pic.twitter.com/kkp9BZ4RzP

You tried to extradite an autistic hacker looking for evidence of UFOs to the US.
You jailed teenage looters.
You refused to prosecute the cops who shot Jean Charles de Menezes in the head 6/7 times.
You abstained on the #SpyCops bill that effectively put police above the law. https://t.co/rPrBXZcx8M

Even the substance of his crime speech falls apart under examination:
Show me the data @Keir_Starmer – show me the 'receipts'.
What percentage of the British public says the smell of cannabis is 'ruining their lives'. 0.001%? Maybe less?
These are the same people who bang on about 'evidence based policy'. https://t.co/KZTTmHX3Ru

Alternatively, is Starmer thinking about the kind of policing favoured in his favourite foreign country – Israel?

Is that the kind of policing that – I don’t know – members of minority groups can anticipate under a Starmer-led government?
After all, look what he does to people from minorities in his own parties. You only have to look at this behaviour to see how he would behave in government.
This week:
Keir Starmer has been accused of racist hierarchy within his party.
In unrelated news, R Ali, P Chamund, L Fonseca, R Joshi, S Khan, R Patel, H R Bhatia, S Rahman, G S Sandhu, N Solanki, A Thalukdar & M Valand have been deselected as Labour councillors in Leicester.

And what would he do about this?
This is what proper revolution looks like.
When the police get tired of attacking their neighbours, peaceful revolution can happen.
Author @RiveraSun says in her books that we shouldn't hate them, but show them we love them as fellow human beings, and they will stop harming us. https://t.co/onisEmmZTL— CrémantCommunarde #BeAPeacemonger ☮️ (@0Calamity) March 23, 2023
Could there be a better summary of the situation than this?
His fans don’t like it but the truth is:@Keir_Starmer comes across as more untrustworthy than @RishiSunak and this is only confirmed by Starmer’s own actions since becoming @UKLabour leader.
That should worry Labour. But they’re more concerned with people pointing out facts.

Sadly, it won’t stop him grubbing around for votes, even though we all know what he is…
Starmer is right now grovelling for votes on Granada Reports North West…He's just said @UKLabour is unrecognisable now he's taken over, first time he's told the truth, it's now a cesspit of corporate, Blairite, Tory values…P*ss off Keith and take your front bench with you!!

In summary: don’t trust anything Keir Starmer says about crime because he’ll outlaw anything that doesn’t suit his current purpose. And do all you can to ensure that he doesn’t get the chance to put any of his nasty ideas into practice.
