Has the Green Party finally broken into the political mainstream?
A Green Party supporter provides some insight into what the local election results mean for that organisation’s future:
Would add Stroud, Lancaster and Sussex to this list, in time. Might take Starmer to expose how right a PM he would be before it kicks in.

And this reply is interesting:
No other party is seriously interested in the votes of 18-25 year olds.
…and yet 18-25 year olds are ~15% of the electorate.
If the Greens can rally this demographic it would cause the neoliberal neapolitan tories (blue, red, yellow) serious problems.

But of course there is a fly for this ointment:
Local elections have lower turnout and those voting have different considerations for their ward than their constituency.
So there are not many realistic Green targets for seats they can actually gain in a general election.
