With Labour and Tories agreeing on pensions, who will senior citizens vote for?

Last Updated: September 23, 2023By Tags: , , , , , , , ,

The answer’s simple, but will our pensioners work it out?

With both Labour and the Tories refusing to guarantee the continuation of the triple-lock, there is no reason for the worst-paid pensioners in Europe – ours, here in the UK – to give either party their vote.

Wow. 68,000 pensioner poverty deaths every year.

This is a ridiculous position to take. I’m a pensioner and I don’t just decide who I’ll vote for on the basis of my pension.

Do you decide it based on other ways a possible government can rip you off as well?

It is not just pensions which are below the levels in Europe but most of the salaries in the UK, except chief executives, government ministers and MPs.

This is down to years of poor government by all parties of ver the years, some more than others.

UK workers are not respected in many ways by those in power, just fodder for the powerful to live off.

This will not change because no party wishes it to.

Hi Mike, As a pensioner I appreciate times are very tough at the moment for the UK’s billionaires so I think, as a pensioner surviving on the lowest pension in Europe, that it is understandable if these greedy self serving grasping bastards want to have some of my hard worked for pension.

As a UK pensioner, I can say that for myself, neither the government nor opposition parties will get my vote in the next general election, I had already determined that prior to any mention of the ‘Triple-Lock’. Currently, it is a quandary, whom will get my vote?

Stopping the triple lock annual rise to state pension does not save the government, but thieves National Insurance contributions that are 90 per cent of annual budget of NI Fund.

Tory, Lib Dems and Labour governments since 1978 onwards have been butchering the value of the state pension by various abolitions, no prior version of triple lock between 1980 and 2010, and pension age rises. Especially from women.
