What Israel has been doing – and how the world has been reacting
Social media posts about the Israel/Hamas conflict (if you can call it that; slaughter would be more appropriate) have diversified since October – and you need the full spectrum to appreciate what’s really going on.
This Writer can’t claim to have seen everything but hopefully the following will help to inform you.
I’m starting with a post about the history behind the current clash, detailing the reasons Palestinians want their freedom (and for those of us in the West, any people’s desire for freedom should be heard, shouldn’t it?) as provided over the years:
For people who’ve followed Israel-Palestine with eyes wide open for the last 25 yrs, this is just head-nodding stuff from @krystalball.
But for the vast majority of folks traumatized by the horror show in Gaza, this is GAME CHANGING historical context. pic.twitter.com/EGxHBRpKvB

“What now”?
This:
Human Rights Watch today said that the Israeli government is using starvation of civilians as a method of warfare in Gaza.
Let's be clear: this is a war crime.
Political leaders should not stand by while Israel commits war crimes.
They need to demand an immediate ceasefire.

This (the second tweet rather than the first):

This:
Israel have killed a higher proportion of civilians in Gaza than in any war since early 1900. They are specifically targeting civilians. https://t.co/HbP7qQUJ32

This:
Clearly this damage was caused by tank shells, Hermes drones, Hellfire missiles — Hamas has nothing like that in its arsenal.
Israel does, and has acknowledged “friendly fire” and “Hannibal” incidents against its own citizens.
Media needs to stop ignoring the obvious. https://t.co/sUbpQyraCu

This:
The evidence Israel killed many of its own on Oct 7th is overwhelming.
The reason this is massively important is that Israel is using October 7th as a justification for a ‘final solution’ in Gaza.
An international investigation must take place.

It's crazy how many are silent on this genocide out of fear of being called antisemitic https://t.co/gogSV9LEkC

The ICRC is the International Committee of the Red Cross, by the way.
Now take a look at this:
"It is clear that this is the aim of the Israelis, to muzzle journalists, to prevent us from carrying the message"

Here’s one Israeli’s response:
EDY COHEN AN ISRAELI JOURNALIST LINKED TO ISRAELI SECURITY FORCES CALLS FOR KILLING OF JOURNALIST WAEL AL-DAHDOUH
In a now deleted post he asked;

And what else has Israel been doing?
This:
Farouk Al khatib from Ramallah area was imprisoned by the Israeli army for four months without charges in terrible conditions by the orders of Israeli minister Ben Gveir. This is how he looked before imprisonment and then how he looks now when he was released. pic.twitter.com/YMZgqh491U

THE ISRAELIS ARE MONSTERS.
These people are completely out of control, given the green light by the United States, UK & EU to do whatever they want to the native Palestinian population.

What’s the world saying?
This:
“It is impossible to exaggerate the horror that has befallen the people of Gaza over the last two months. But their courage, suffering and endurance may have changed world history.”

There are calls to have Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu charged with genocide before the International Criminal Court:

Dr West is right about Netanyahu’s speech. Here’s his now-infamous “Amalek” broadcast in which he used the language of genocide to refer to Gaza:
A message to the world 🚨
What's happening in Gaza is a planned genocide. Israeli jews used their bible to occupy Palestine & now to justify the genocide.
Netanyahu has publicly called out for the mass murder of every Amalek including children, which is what's happening. pic.twitter.com/LlHzYLjEmX

Meanwhile, the Houthi people in Yemen are blockading the Red Sea:

It is widely believed that this has prompted Rishi Sunak to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. Sadly, his demand does not appear to have been prompted by humanitarian concerns but by worries that a £1 billion deal with BP, signed by his father-in-law’s firm Infosys, might become a dud as a result of the blockade.
Elsewhere, nations – rather than people – are joining the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel:
BREAKING: Malaysia just banned Israeli shipping giant ZIM from entering its ports. The decision follows a mass campaign to block a ZIM ship. Malaysia also banned any ship enroute to Israel from docking in its ports or any ships flying an Israeli flag

In the UK, there are now laws against BDS (that’s right, isn’t it?) but people can still claim justification for activism against Israel – for example, for the following reason:
Hundreds of health workers have shut down the London HQ of Palantir, a company which professes to be keeping Israel ‘armed and ahead’ in its ongoing bombardment of Gaza, including Israel’s systematic targeting of healthcare facilities, health workers and patients.

There’s also an international campaign to shut down Israel’s largest military manufacturer:

And if you want to help put economic pressure on Israel, here’s a list of brands for you to boycott – or contact their bosses to demand withdrawal from Israel until it stops murdering innocent men, women and children:
I am sharing this list of brands investing in Israel because I personally was not aware of some of these brands. I hope you will spread it widely.
