What Israel has been doing – and how the world has been reacting

Last Updated: December 22, 2023By Tags: , , ,

Social media posts about the Israel/Hamas conflict (if you can call it that; slaughter would be more appropriate) have diversified since October – and you need the full spectrum to appreciate what’s really going on.

This Writer can’t claim to have seen everything but hopefully the following will help to inform you.

I’m starting with a post about the history behind the current clash, detailing the reasons Palestinians want their freedom (and for those of us in the West, any people’s desire for freedom should be heard, shouldn’t it?) as provided over the years:

The ICRC is the International Committee of the Red Cross, by the way.

Now take a look at this:

Here’s one Israeli’s response:

And what else has Israel been doing?

And this:

What’s the world saying?

This:

There are calls to have Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu charged with genocide before the International Criminal Court:

Dr West is right about Netanyahu’s speech. Here’s his now-infamous “Amalek” broadcast in which he used the language of genocide to refer to Gaza:

Meanwhile, the Houthi people in Yemen are blockading the Red Sea:

It is widely believed that this has prompted Rishi Sunak to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. Sadly, his demand does not appear to have been prompted by humanitarian concerns but by worries that a £1 billion deal with BP, signed by his father-in-law’s firm Infosys, might become a dud as a result of the blockade.

Elsewhere, nations – rather than people – are joining the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel:

In the UK, there are now laws against BDS (that’s right, isn’t it?) but people can still claim justification for activism against Israel – for example, for the following reason:

There’s also an international campaign to shut down Israel’s largest military manufacturer:

And if you want to help put economic pressure on Israel, here’s a list of brands for you to boycott – or contact their bosses to demand withdrawal from Israel until it stops murdering innocent men, women and children:

Be sure to check back regularly because there will be many more developments in the near future.

meanwhile my microsoft newsfeed is full of ‘opinion’ pieces from the Jerusalem Post alleging evidence [for those unable to read past the banner], that opposition to genocide – and antizionism – is 100% proven to be antisemitic
