Why have there been no repercussions for foul-mouthed ‘Foam Secretary’ ‘Rohypnol Jimmy’?
Why is James Cleverly still the Home Secretary after a foul-mouthed outburst in Parliament and a leering joke about date-rape?
He is believed to have called Stockton North a “shithole” during Prime Minister’s Questions on November 22. Here’s the clip so you can judge it for yourself.
Cleverly was quizzed on the incident today (January 2) by Mishal Husain – and he admitted using un-Parliamentary language in the Commons chamber.
And who did our impartial mass media target?

Did she, though?
Or was she, in fact, quoting what he was believed to have said, and what he admitted having said?
Here’s the exchange:
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command”
The audio was clear. The people of Stockton know what the Home Secretary thinks of their area https://t.co/4X47PXS8eb

This Writer is in no doubt. Cleverly has admitted being the MP responsible for saying the word in question and I can clearly hear it being the word “shithole”. No blame should attach to Ms Husain for doing her job on our behalf.
Also part of that interview was another exchange in which Cleverly’s alleged joke about the date-rape drug Rohypnol was explored.
At a 10 Downing Street reception, he apparently said that spiking his wife with “a little bit of Rohypnol” – the illegal date-rape drug – was “not really illegal if it’s only a little bit”.
The comment sparked calls for his removal from office – as Home Secretary he is in charge of the police and law-enforcement – such as this, from a caller to James O’Brien on LBC:
'She nearly died…this guy has got no idea how offensive he's been…'
This caller wonders why there haven't been 'any repercussions' for James Cleverly after his rape 'joke', breaking down as he tells @mrjamesob how he almost lost his wife after her drink was spiked. pic.twitter.com/D3sY6uqFDo

The question – and especially the emotion with which it was asked – is valid.
The answer seems to be that people occupying Cleverly’s place in society never face the consequences of their unwise misbehaviour, no matter how bad it is.
He is a repeat offender when it comes to inappropriate comments about sex, it seems – as this story from his time at a publishing company seems to bear out:
When James Cleverly claimed to Mishal Husain his colleagues "know his focus" on protecting women and girls I wonder what this colleague would say?

“Trust me love, if I were flirting with you you’d be foaming at the gash”?
This Writer is no longer the most attractive of men himself, but speaking for my people I find it inordinately surprising that Cleverly ever believed such a statement to be true.
Wild overconfidence notwithstanding, it all suggests that he should be nowhere near Parliament, let alone government. I wonder why he is being allowed to get away with this.
