People aren’t coming to the UK for health work due to Tory restrictions – so if you can’t see a doctor or nurse, blame the Tories.
The famine of health and social care workers coming from abroad comes after the former Conservative government restricted the number of foreign workers and their families able to come to the UK, in a bid to cut immigration.
It worked; in the year to June 2024, the Tory government granted 286,382 work visas – 11 per cent fewer than the previous year.

According to the BBC, the Home Office approved 89,085 visas for the health and care sector in the year to June 2024 – more than 80 per cent down on April to June of the year before (I think this information may be garbled; it would make more sense if the time periods were the same).
Whichever way you slice it, the Tories cut the number of people working in health and social care, just when those public services were in desperate need of staff.
