Well? Did anybody bother to ‘Dance for Israel’? It was an event that happened on Sunday, apparently to raise money for survivors of the Supernova music festival, that was attacked by Hamas on October 7, 2023.
In the events that followed, 364 festivalgoers were massacred and it has been alleged that multiple atrocities were committed against them.
Of course any violent crime, whether it includes loss of life, is deplorable. Sadly this particular event has faded into insignificance when compared with Israel’s response, in which more than 40,000 innocent Palestinians have been murdered – many of them children. Atrocities have also been alleged against Israel Defence Forces’ personnel.

One such massacre occurred as recently as the beginning of last week, when patients who were attached to drip-feeds in tents in the grounds of the Al Aqsa Hospital, Gaza, were burned to death by an Israeli air strike.
So the decision to hold a ‘Dance for Israel’ the following weekend seems to have been in extremely poor taste.
In worse taste, it seems to This Writer, was the choice of hosts: Eylon Levy, who parroted every wild accusation against Hamas and Gaza as if it was verified truth when it wasn’t; and Rachel Riley, who seems to have been caught doing much the same on at least one occasion:
The claim that babies were cut out of Israeli women and beheaded has been debunked many times. I know of no such incident that has been proved to have happened.
In fairness to Riley, she may have been repeating something she had been told – but then, she should have made it clear that she had not seen anything to prove what she was saying, or clarified it at a later date.
Of course, if she has actual evidence, then she is welcome to produce it.
So for these reasons, This Writer hopes that the event was a flop.
