Some things never change and it seems Labour is still using the media to announce punishments for members, rather than having the decency to tell them first.
Those of you with very long memories may remember when Yr Obdt Srvt was suspended from Labour on charges of anti-Semitism about which I later had to take the party to court in order to prove were false.
The first I knew of it was when a reporter from the Western Mail phoned me up to ask for a comment, catching me off-guard. As I wasn’t guilty of any wrong-doing and didn’t have anything to hide, this wasn’t a huge problem, but it was a sign of the dirty tactics the party’s right-wing cuckoos would continue to employ against people they considered their enemies, right up to the present day.

So we read this on Zarah Sultana’s X account:
And this on Apsana Begum’s:
John McDonnell was more relaxed about it – because he has other concerns:
They were the only former Labour MPs, of the seven excluded last year for voting to end the two-child restriction on child benefits, to remain out of the party after a decision by party authorities this week.
It means Richard Burgon, Ian Byrne, Imran Hussain and Rebecca Long-Bailey may sit in Parliament as Labour members again.
But the decisions seem to be based more on favouritism than behaviour. If Zarah Sultana remains suspended because she has spoken out about the Israel/Gaza conflict, why not Richard Burgon?
It all seems highly suspicious.
There’s something rotten in Labour, and it goes right to the core.
