It’s amazing that pundits are still trying to make it seem that lazy Labour’s easy choice – attacking the disabled – was somehow hard.
Fortunately there are some people still willing to stand up for decency. This Writer is one of them – another was on today’s (Tuesday, March 11, 2025) BBC Politics Live.

sick disabled scroungers taking the mick, getting them back into work.
I will tell you something. there were over 64 factories here for disabled people who could manage to work. were shut down with thousands of disabled people put on the scrap heap in 1995+. so what was the point they had a doctor a nurse a psychiatrist, ++ they had holidays sick days worked the same hours with overtime and had a decent pay with a decent pension.
so why are they allowed to spin these lies. people need to know.
Sick and disabled people aren’t lying. Everybody who worked in those factories you mention would have been on the equivalent of PIP that was available at that time. PIP is an IN-WORK benefit – that means you can get it if you are working, because it provides extra cash to cover the extra costs that disabled people have to cover. If they’re sick or disabled and getting benefits, then BY DEFINITION they are NOT scroungers – they deserve what they’re getting.
I think you’ve had your head turned around by the lies our politicians have been telling. Now THAT’S a group of people who genuinely “take the mick”. Why are THEY allowed to spin these lies? And why did YOU believe them?
