The headlines say the economy is growing. GDP up 0.7 per cent – fastest in the G7.

Good luck saving for a deposit when rents are rising, and more landlords are passing on interest rate hikes. You’re either stuck at home, overpaying in a house share, or one step from eviction if anything goes wrong.

🎓 Student debt? Still brutal.

Your repayments kick in earlier and last longer.

Tuition fees haven’t been cut.

Maintenance loans don’t stretch.

Debt is baked in from the start.

🗳️ So what can you do?

Politicians bank on young people staying silent.

That’s why your rent is ignored, your job security is trash, and your future feels permanently paused.

But you still have power:

• Register to vote – and use it.

• Ask questions – publicly. Online. In real life.

• Back movements that push for housing reform, fair wages, and climate action.

• Demand more.

You’re not crazy. The system is rigged.
