Kemi Badenoch’s economic ‘golden rule’ is incoherent and dangerous

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch has just been on BBC News, telling us that her party has a new economic rule: “Tax less, spend less, and restore economic stability.”
The first two elements spell out an economic disaster for the UK in its current circumstances – and will make the third element impossible to achieve.
And I think Badenoch knows it. This is exactly how the Tories tripled the national debt between 2010-24.
