Britons take to the streets across the country to #StopTheCoup
Citizens of the United Kingdom have hit the streets in cities, towns and villages across the country to express their outrage at the actions of Boris Johnson – and the Queen.
There was even a demonstration in This Writer’s Mid Wales home town against the decision to shut down Parliament so that our unelected prime minister – who has not proved he can command a majority in Parliament – can enact a flagship policy that has been rejected by our democratically-elected legislature many times.
Here’s a smattering of videos and images from across the country, courtesy of Twitter. They speak for themselves:

I thank everyone who has taken to the streets here in Glasgow and across the whole country to oppose Boris Johnson's smash and grab raid on our democracy.
We'll do everything possible to stop a disastrous No Deal for which this Tory government has no mandate. #DefendOurDemocracy pic.twitter.com/5tgRT4EjHw

People are marching on Buckingham Palace after Boris Johnson massively overplayed his hand by lying to the Queen to get her to shut down democracy.

Finally, if you don’t like a certain swear word beginning with ‘F’, don’t play the following video…

I see the BBC are doing their usual downplaying, claiming that the protesters in London are in the low thousands. I attended the demo in Liverpool, which was well attended and possessed plenty of passion. Remarkably our local ITV news (Granada Reports) did report on it in the teatime bulletin, but they only filmed the event after the speeches, and much of the crowd, had left, thereby making it look much more sparse than it actually was.
I was just thinking the same Mark, the BBC tried to downplay the whole thing, making out that it was a disparate crowd of disgruntled people, some Remainers, some anti-Tory, some wanting a General election, as if the protests were doomed because they weren’t united. Move along, nothing to see here…
The bbc as usual inflating the numbers of ‘protesters” who basically are demanding a coup to take over the government and force us to stay in the Eu against the will of the people and in the face of democracy.
Why are you lying about this? The BBC played down the number of protesters.
i think you will find, mike, that meryl is a nazi troll.
You lot are hilarious.
Dolling up a photo of Boris to look like a Nazi. Whilst ignoring the fact that Jeremy Corbyn is a far ledt fringe facist. Which means he is far more likely to be hitler than Boris.
I’m allowing this as comic relief.
Look, everybody! Look at the anonymous clown!
