Don’t let anyone fool you with the ‘autism’ excuse for Dominic Cummings’ wrongdoing. It isn’t true
I had not been aware of this, but if you have heard the rumour that Dominic Cummings needed to travel 260 miles for childcare because his child is autistic and needs familiar people nearby… Don’t believe a word of it:
The now-widespread Tory excuse that Cummings repeatedly broke lockdown because his kid is autistic is a lie, started off by this Tweet, then circulated by huge numbers of Tories who desperately wanted it to be true
The originator of this autism lie has now deleted their account https://t.co/b3OzQUNBZg

I trust that clears up the matter.

Having an autistic son, with asthma who struggles immensely, a daughter also very probably on the spectrum and being a single mum with disabilities that put me in the high risk group. I find it absolutely abhorrent if it’s being claimed the child’s autistic and isn’t.
There’s a huge amount of parents in the same boat as me, and with children whose SEND needs are far greater. We all have very legitimate concerns about childcare if we are taken ill, full stop, not just with C19.
Are our children’s needs of a familiar family face “just incase” less important?
Did we go running hundreds of miles away, with symptoms, to have family on tap “just incase”?
No! No we bloody well didn’t. So not only have the public been insulted by Bojo the Clown’s desperate attempt to justify the actions of his “Rasputin” but even more insult and contempt piled onto a community already facing enough discrimination.
I hope the child isn’t being used as “spin” to garner sympathy for a “hidden disability”, because the backlash to the adults will be fierce.
Yes, Dominic Cummings is much more important than you. Get used to it. We desperately need him and Boris fighting together on the front line to save our country so that people like you can sound off about whatever they like. The politics of envy make me sick, but can we expect any more from a nation that has everything served on a plate and expect as a right to be looked after and paid for by others. Try loyalty and support for your country and Government, instead of sniping from your taxpayer funded lifestyle. You might even enjoy the feeling. Just thank your lucky stars that we avoided having the 2 Marxists in Downing Street, one of whom has admitted to never having read a book – but you probably voted for him anyway.
I don’t recall making a value judgement on my importance relative to that of Dominic Cummings.
I certainly disagree with your claim that “we desperately need him and Boris”, as they have proved worse than useless in the fight against Covid-19. I can “sound off” about whatever I like whether they’re there or not because it is a fundamental right held by all UK citizens, according to a law that, thankfully, is nothing to do with either of those two buffoons.
I do not understand why you mention “the politics of envy” as if that has anything to do with this. Please don’t try making false arguments here.
If you think this is a nation that has “everything served on a plate”, you have clearly never had to claim Employment and Support Allowance, Personal Independence Payment or Universal Credit. In fact, your comments seem to mark you out as a member of the entitled elite. What makes you think you have any right to pontificate on matters you do not understand?
I am indeed loyal to my country; I wish its current government would show even a tenth of that kind of loyalty.
Why do you assume my lifestyle is “taxpayer funded”? I’m a working man and I support myself with my earnings.
By “the 2 Marxists”, I assume you are falsely referring to Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell, whose politics more closely resemble the Centre-Left politics of many European nations that have fared much better in defending themselves against Covid-19. You will be aware, of course, that successive Tory governments over the last 10 years actually dismantled the UK’s ability to handle a pandemic of this kind? No? Didn’t think so.
Cronies of fascist dictator boris and henchman cummings created a twitter account so that the lie of ‘autism’ would be used to justify Cummings’ arrogant criminal activity!
Fascist tories are so desperate to deny cummings’ and dictator boris’s criminal actions that they utter lies! But then fascist tories lying is so common it is now rare for them to even acknowledge the truth!
The extreme way that you write gives the clue to the type of person you are. Certainly not worth listening to. Grow up you little Marxist.
What is extreme about my words in the article? Here they are: “I had not been aware of this, but if you have heard the rumour that Dominic Cummings needed to travel 260 miles for childcare because his child is autistic and needs familiar people nearby… Don’t believe a word of it. I trust that clears up the matter.”
Nothing extreme there, as far as I can see!
On the other hand, I think “Grow up you little Marxist” is extremely extreme, as will anybody else reading your silly comment.
distrust distrust distrust resign resign resign lock him up lock him up lock him up
ect ect ect…………………………..
Quite. Are you the Brian Croucher of TV acting fame? If so, loved your performances in Doctor Who and Blake’s 7 but I suppose everybody says that.
Thank god that’s cleared up then. Only autistic children are important… I can now arrange to send my little one down the pits to earn a living.
