25 jobseekers for every job on Tory government’s own website
Do the Tories really intend to penalise people for failing to get work – according to Universal Credit rules – when there are so few jobs available?
Thanks to Boris Johnson, Matt Hancock, and their government’s inability to manage Covid-19 properly, there are now 2.3 million UK citizens claiming Universal Credit.
Sanctions have been reimposed so they must follow the rules and go after the jobs that are available – no matter how unsuitable, or indeed distant.
The situation is absurd – as the Frank Zola blog pointed out while revealing that current figures on the government’s own jobsite mean 25 people are available for every job.
That’s not taking into account regional issues – the jobs are unlikely to be in the same places as all the people available for them.
What a ridiculous situation. And to think only last December people trusted the Tories.

Well my answer to that is to blame the government Make a stand don’t let this Government get away with these wicked sanctions. It’s not the people’s fault this Government didn’t listen when they first found out about the pandemic had they had.listened they would have been ready They didn’t listen people from all over the world was still coming into our country they should have closed the borders straight away. So if you lost your job because of this virus it’s honestly not your fault So stand up to them make them listen why should they penalise you because there is no work do not let them unless people get together and make them listen The Tories will take it out on the very people that can’t afford to be paying for their wrong doings. The Tories get huge donations for not taxing their wealthy donors it’s all greed and let the poorest of society foot the bill
And most of those “jobs” won’t really be jobs at all. Going on the usual form for a Government jobsearch website, only about 10% of the total will be real jobs and not scams of one form or another, and of the real jobs only about 10% will be full time jobs that will let people escape further punishment at the hands of Universal Credit and the Jokecentre sadists.
