Berger condemns Corbyn call for Israel/Palestine peace as ‘wrong’
So much about this is shocking, it is hard to know where to start.
Firstly, that Luciana Berger, who left the Labour Party to stand in opposition to it – amid a miasma of scurrilous lies about left-wing anti-Semitism – when Jeremy Corbyn was leader, has been allowed back in – and to speak as a party representative at its annual conference.
Secondly, that Mr Corbyn himself has been excluded from that conference, even though he remains a member of the Labour Party.
And finally, that Berger had the front to come out with the following rant in response to Mr Corbyn’s appeal for a peaceful solution to the conflict that has broken out between Israel and the people of Palestine (it goes beyond Hamas now; civilians have been targeted indiscriminately).
Watch this, and listen to what she said:
Sophy Ridge puts Jeremy Corbyns comments to Luciana Berger – that he doesn't support any attacks & the way to end the terrible situation in Israel and Palestine is to end the occupation of Palestine by Israel. Berger says these comments are wrong. pic.twitter.com/dw5YMtTXYY

Let’s have a reminder of Mr Corbyn’s words:
The unfolding events in Israel and Palestine are deeply alarming.
We need an immediate ceasefire and urgent de-escalation.
And we need a route out of this tragic cycle of violence: ending the occupation is the only means of achieving a just and lasting peace.
— Jeremy Corbyn (@jeremycorbyn) October 7, 2023
So it’s wrong to be alarmed at the violence, is it?
It’s wrong to want the combatants to stop shooting and bombing each other, is it?
It’s wrong to want to end the cycle of violence that means this will happen again if the situation between Israel and Palestine continues unchanged, is it?
So what does Ms Berger think is right? Does she welcome the violence? Does she want more of it? Does she want it to continue? To what end?
Why does she take issue with Mr Corbyn over his opinion of Hamas? He didn’t even mention that organisation!
Why does she suggest he should be ashamed for not “calling out what happened for what it is”, when he very clearly did?
Hmm. A former Labour MP who left the party because she strongly opposed Mr Corbyn now attacks his call for peace between Israel and Palestine under false pretences. I’m sure there’s a clear reason for that but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
Perhaps you can work it out?

She is fine with violence so long as it is in service of the maintanence of the apartheid state of Israel and its violent occupation. That’s all it boils down to.
Berger is not fit to lick Corbyn’s boots! She sounds like a racist, right wing bigot….
A simple political , an opinion on an opinion. The abused have become the abusers & no one can justify the Zionist Israeli stealing of Holy Land & the genocide of the Palestinians by Israel, condemned by the UN. , This was ‘worked out on Hamas recent visit to Russia . Will China also take advantage of all the ‘wars’ breaking out ? Or will the Trilateral Commission use it as an excuse to hasten their plans ?
Shame on Luciana Berger for justifying systemic violence against Palestinian civilians. However as usual all the rabid hysterical cries of ‘wah poor Israel’ is all about hypocritical female and male politicians supporting a very powerful fascist and zionist Israeli dictatorship! The holocaust is routinely used as justification for the zionist/fascist Israeli politicians to continue their murderous campaign against Palestinians.
Berger forgets Corbyn is still a member of the fake labour party but he is denied right of entry to fake labour’s ‘little jamboree’ conference. I’m certain fake labour delights in taking Corbyn’s membership fees!
Starmer’s fake labour, Judas party doesn’t have a single decent front bench MP in it…They are all self serving, backstabbing traitors! The all too few decent MPs left in Labour may as well walk out and form a new, decent labour party that will actually serve Britain and the British people…
Israel has been stealing Palestinian land, destroying Palestinian crops destroying Palestinian homes, terrorising and murdering Palestinians… Including Children! since the Balfour Declaration over 70 years ago….And what have the gutless cowards in the UN done to stop it? Nothing!
Sounds like someone’s been enjoying the complementary wine a bit too much
Luciana Berger is another one of those greasy pole climbers who wants her job & will do anything to keep it. Life on the outside looking in obviously did not suit her – no matter she can earn Brownie points by climbing up the ladder to Starmer’s clique by being a complete gutter dweller.
