Shadow Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has admitted a Tory government could not have cut taxes as he promised in the run-up to the general election.
As we’re all waiting for some actual news on this overcast Monday morning in July, let’s watch him floundering after Laura Kuenssberg asked if he had told the shadow cabinet that this would have been impossible:
It took a while, but he got there!
Now we’re just waiting to see how many lies Labour put into its own campaign. Admittedly, Keir Starmer’s party won the election by default – because the Tories were so bad – but that should not let it off responsibility for its actions now.
