Reform UK cheerleader Isabel Oakeshott has dealt herself – and the party she supports – a hearty shot in the foot with an attack on disabled people.
By saying, “These people are, frankly, parasites,” she invoked memories of Nazi Germany, where people with disabilities were denigrated as “useless eaters” and subjected to Aktion T4 – an extermination campaign that killed as many as 300,000 people.
Some might say that is almost as many as the Tories managed to send to their deaths with their punitive benefit policies between 2010 and 2024.
