Starmer should be praised for talking up green energy
This Site doesn’t usually have much time for him, but Keir Starmer should be praised for talking up green energy at Cop 29.
Announcing a plan for UK greenhouse gas emissions to be cut by 81 per cent by 2035 – an increase on previous plans, he said, “The race is on for the clean energy jobs of the future, the economy of tomorrow, and I don’t want to be in the middle of the pack – I want to get ahead of the game.”
It’s a good bit of psychology.
It suggests that green energy is a growth industry and countries that don’t embrace it will lose out on economic prosperity as a result – something that no country will do.
And it contrasts starkly with US President-Elect Donald Trump’s plan to cut investment in green technology – a plan that may be doomed to failure anyway, because green energy is now cheaper to produce than fossil fuel generation.

How pleasant to see the UK on the cutting-edge of progress for a change – calling for other countries to match our intent as the United Nations warns that, without it, temperatures across the world will rise by a fatal 3.1C.

If genuine.
We certainly should praise him if he gets something right.
Starmer is as genuine as a 3pound note! Nothing he says can be believed or trusted! Just look at his past record…All his lies, deceit, false promises. His two faced backstabbing, his destruction of the labour party, the list goes on! The ‘man’ is a total disgrace and an embarrassment! He must resign!
