The Peace and Justice Project is inviting you to join Jeremy Corbyn at special events in northwest England – if you can.
He will be in Southport on Saturday (March 1, 2025) to join the launch of Southport Community Independents – a grassroots movement dedicated to putting the people of Southport and its community first.
According to the Peace and Justice Project, “Over the past several months, we’ve witnessed the Labour government fail to deliver the real change our country desperately needs—from cutting vital benefits for millions of pensioners, to environmental mismanagement, and questionable international policies.”

“That’s why the Peace and Justice Project is proud to support this event alongside the Collective and Assemble. Joining Jeremy will be Cllr Sean Halsall, who ran as an independent in Southport, Cllr Lucy Williams from Liverpool Community Independents, Molly May Shelton, co-founder of Assemble and Andrew Feinstein, known for standing up [for election against Keir Starmer] in Holborn & St Pancras.”
The event will take place at the Valhalla Room at Pleasureland and will feature music, food, and plenty of opportunities to connect with others committed to building a more inclusive, community-focused Southport and a stronger North-West.

Then in Rochdale on Sunday, March 9, the Peace and Justice Project will present a unique “In Conversation” event accompanied by a three-course meal.
The evening will be in support of the book, Monstrous Anger of the Guns: How The Global Arms Trade Is Ruining The World & What We Can Do About It, and will raise vital funds for humanitarian aid in Gaza.
Mr Corbyn will be joined by French journalist Myriam Francois and Jewish Voice For Labour’s Professor Marion Roberts for an engaging discussion on the global arms trade, the campaign for peace and disarmament, and the challenge of building a world that works for the many, not just the few. The cost of each £15 entry ticket includes a delicious three-course meal with all dietary requirements catered-for.
The event will be held at: Castlemere Banqueting Hall, 8 Castlemere Street, Rochdale OL11 3SW – a change of venue from original plans.
Staff at the Peace and Justice Project said it promises to be an informative and insightful event in support of Monstrous Anger of the Guns and the crucial work of humanitarian organisations in supporting those impacted by the Israeli genocide in Palestine.
If you can’t attend the event, you can buy a copy of Monstrous Anger of the Guns here.
