It’s 2018 – and you are NOT helpless

Happy New Year.

As it is a New Year, This Writer is trying something new – video blogging. Take a look:

I apologise for the face. It’s the only one I have. Also for the glare on my glasses as I’m (obviously) reading from a computer screen. I’ll try to improve the technical matters over time. Hopefully that won’t detract from the message.

Apologies also for the voice. You can tell I’ve had a bit of a cold, can’t you?

you do get condition helplessness and then you think your awesome, ie ids, useless grayling and failing may, however that does work against them, when they meet people that actually understand the condition rather than the twits they employ, what they will really struggle with is if a lot of us say well we volunteer for nothing, how would you like it if we actually charged and it wont be minimum wage

Hope you don’t do this instead of your usual written page because I’m sometimes abroad (as I am now) and not always able to download video stuff as well as it costing too much.

    • Mike Sivier January 1, 2018 at 8:34 pm - Reply

The idea is to do both, hopefully according to what suits best. Many seem to prefer video, it seems.

I would rather just read than watch a video, I have to use headphones to hear it. Can you do what the Canary does and write the message below the video? Thanks

    • Mike Sivier January 1, 2018 at 8:29 pm - Reply

I’ll bear that in mind. Will add the original message to this.

One of my favourite quotes, Josiah Stamp ex director of the Bank of England prior to the 1929 Wall Street crash:

“Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again”.

Our future lies in our own hands, we can build a country fit for people to live in. All money, or at least 97% of it is created out of thin air, that money can be put to the service of people, instead of trapping them in debt to make the rich and the financial sector even richer.

Great to see – and hear – you, Mike. Like other commenters, I’d like to read the words as well as listen/watch, because I can retain the written word better than the spoken… due mainly to the drugs I have to take, which make my brain somewhat sluggish sometimes.

Keep on keeping the words coming though… in whatever media suits you!

Looking forward to reading V-P throughout 2018. All the best to you and Mrs Mike!

    Cheers!

I’ve already taken on board calls for the words to be on the screen as well as spoken in the videos. It shouldn’t be a problem.

A great message, and so true – and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the messenger :)

I hope you can do a Vlog more often, although, maybe, with the written words beneath, for those with hearing problems? :)

One of my favourite quotes, about our propensity to self-slavery, is by Steven Biko:

If one is free at heart, no man-made chains can bind one to servitude, but if one’s mind is so manipulated and controlled by the oppressor, then there will be nothing the oppressed can do to scare his powerful masters.

Also, my absolute favourite, by Karl Marx: ‘You have nothing to lose but your chains’ :)

I know someone who threatened the Department of W*nkers & Parasites (DWP) with court when they sent them an ESA50 before a date they had printed on the ESA72. Their intention was to get them in court and produce just one sheet of paper as fact they contacted them before the date on the form, after they denied it was early.
But they said to them it was so they could be having another assessment on or around the time on the ESA72. So why did they remove the wording from the 2014 ESA72? Because they knew they had been found out! Their previous ESA50 had come just 3 weeks before the date on the ESA72 and had to be returned one day after the date printed on the ESA72. I wonder how many have had ESA stopped before a date on their previous ESA72 letter as a result of them sending forms out earlier that the contact on or after date up to April 2014?

Inspiring message and good to be reminded of it, you did fine in video but I have hearing probs and prefer written to oral. Maybe subtitles if that’s possible?
Happy New Year to you and Mrs Mike by the way☺

I LIKE YOUR VALUES, I LIKE YOUR IDEAS.

I dont see why you cannot be the same as Arron Bastani or the Artist Taxi Driver.

Yes you are at the beginning and maybe take some acting and delivery practice

Get a cam corder separate from PC and place it somewhere else, just off, so you can speak to it/people, not have screen glare. Try not to read. place a type text just below the camcorder, or even slightly to the side, then you are still reading to camcorder.

take a break of 5 or even ten second counting between sentence and idea, yes it sounds a long time, but it works. little old lady told me that when rehearsing for reading text from Bible in church, and say it like it is the first time they have heard it.

Good Luck. WE NEVER WON ANYTHING OR PROTECTED ANYTHING BY BEING PASSIVE.

The fact is, very few people wanted to stand up to Hitler and FIGHT Most wanted to hand over the country and accept invasion for sake of peace.

and Nelson was being attacked by his own and chattering spiteful classes trying to bring him down and destroy him while he was actually away fighting and winning and protecting England.

Yes we argue, but I think we have the same values. But I don’t think of putting all our hopes and potential future in one basket and vague chance of Corbyn getting in, they (both establishment, govt and own party wont let him do anything)

and the left and socialists are all a bunch of mixups, on one hand many wanting revolution and violence and riot on the streets and then some utopia of chaos. on the other hand a load of wishful peaceniks who’s wishy washy daydreams and hopes ignore the evil and vicious ambitious in in our land and world

GOOD LUCK, YOU WILL GET BETTER

I’ll do the delivery practice ‘on the job’, so to speak; I want to get this material out to the public.

The idea about the camcorder is a good one – I’m hating the screen glare.

As I get more experienced, I’m hoping to need notes increasingly less, so I don’t have to read as much as I’m doing now.

Not sure about the long pauses. I recall hearing certain readers at church who used this method, and it made them as dull as ditchwater.

Of course I disagree with your opinions about the Left and Jeremy Corbyn.

Oh and have a more conversational style, less lecture and reading it. Presentation is different, it is like talking to someone in your own living room or on a balcony, as Arron does. and head waggling is something really diffcult to get out of. The camera catches everything and makes it ten times more prominent . I did 4 keeping myself as still as a rock. really difficult keeping that control and focus.

    WORD FOR TODAY AND ALWAYS

“There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.”

No idea where I got it from, just came up in my timeline as a past post in 2015 for Today
