It’s national: Violent crime surges across England and Wales due to Tory police cuts

Last Updated: April 26, 2018By

Gun crime, knife crime and other violence will continue to surge as long as we have a Conservative government that is determined to starve the police of funds and personnel.

The scandal of the Windrush Generation has shown us that the Tories preferred to funnel money into their racist efforts to deport UK citizens who happen to have a different skin colour from Theresa May.

Way back in 2011, David Cameron said he would be happy to privatise all public services apart from the courts and the military – meaning he wanted the police to be bought by private companies, no matter the opportunities for corruption this would cause.

As Tory underfunding has led to a crimewave across the country, how long do you think it will be before they lie to us that the only solution is for private enterprise to take over?

Violent crime in England and Wales is rising at an accelerating pace, according to police figures showing a 22% increase in knife crime and 11% rise in gun crime.

The figures for 2017 from the Office for National Statistics show overall crime has fallen owing in part to a 28% decrease in computer misuse offences.

But violent crime is on the up. Police recorded 39,598 offences involving a knife or sharp instrument in the year to December 2017, a 22% increase compared with the previous year (32,468), and the highest number registered since comparable records started in 2010.

Gun crime rose to 6,604 offences.

The figures come amid mounting concern about a spate of violent crimes and the impact of cuts in police numbers.

I expect the Nasty Party will try to blame someone or something else. They refuse to accept the consequences of their nasty and unnecessary austerity.

Cuts to the Police have caused the rise in violent crimes and those people who are mostly affected and are committing those crimes are the young. This government has created a generation of young people without hope, their savage policies have hit our young people very hard. Zero hour contracts, low pay, no chance of ever affording their own home, let alone social housing, rise in homelessness, massive debts from tuition fees and no apprenticeship schemes. Their education blighted by constant testing instead of learning, they have watched their parents struggle to pay bills and feed the family often in over crowded homes. It is no wonder the young are angry.

” … the same as Benefits …” – the same as the disabled, the homeless and our children – in the name of ” … fairness for the tax payer! … ” killing them silently at someone else’s contracted-out hand. When will people wake up?
