Basildon Hospital nurses 25 per cent pay cut will affect how they ‘support their families’ – Essex Live
None of the Tory leadership candidates could care less about nursing staff at an NHS hospital struggling to make ends meet.
They’re all Conservatives; they all want to starve the NHS of cash, staff and services.
That’s why This Writer can only agree with Peter Stefanovic’s tweet: “Is it any wonder we have a desperate shortage of 40,000 nurses in this country!”
Basildon Hospital nurses are set to receive a massive pay cut which will effect how they ‘support their families’.
The nurses, who spend at least 12 hours on their feet on each shift, were told of the huge wage reduction in an email during half term.
In a letter from NHS Professionals (NHSP) sent to staff it reveals that the pay rate for flexible workers within the Basildon and Thurrock University NHS Foundation Trust will see a pay cut of up to 25 per cent.

so it isn’t actually basildon hospital it is the privately run NHS professionals that are cutting the pay, although probably not what they charge basildon to use them.
This is deeply worrying. It makes me wonder why people who cannot afford expensive private medical insurance still vote for the Tories or the unpleasant Farage – both of whom are determined to wreck and sell off our NHS.
